Insoles for Morton's Neuroma
Morton's Neuroma is a painful condition that affects a nerve between (usually) the third and fourth toes. The nerve and surrounding tissue become irritated and swollen and can cause severe pain. Although the precise cause is not known, the condition is significantly more common in women and it is likely that tight footwear could be a contributing factor. It is also unusual for the condition to affect both feet at the same time.
Symptoms are sharp pain and numbness in the ball of the foot, extending into the toes, often with the sensation that you are standing on a small object between the third and fourth toes. Pain intensifies with activity and does not generally occur when at rest.
Well fitting, contoured and comfortable insoles help to position the foot correctly in your footwear and take the pressure off the nerves in the toes. Insoles will work best in more sensible footwear.
